  • Power ON the machine by pressing the Power button.

  • Use the controls on the display panel, and connect with your wireless network.

  • Tap the right arrow key, and touch Wireless Setup Wizard.

  • Choose the option Network from the HP Officejet Pro 8610 setup, and select Wi-Fi Protected Setup Wizard.

  • Tap on your network that is displayed on the list.

  • Type the WPA password, and tap Done.

  • Enter the WEP/WPA passphrase, and tap Done.

  • Tap OK to confirm the settings.

  • Touch OK if you want to print a Wireless Test report, or choose Skip.

  • Choose the connection method while setting up the printer model. To perform the basic setup, you can use a USB cable if you have one. Else, you can set it up wirelessly by using a Wi-Fi connection.

  • The HP Auto Wireless Connect method lets you connect to various wireless devices without the use of any USB or other cables.

  • You can get this feature from the driver package that is available online, or in the installation CD that is provided to you in the printer package. Just insert the CD, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

  • Select ‘Wireless’ as the network connection when prompted during the HP Officejet Pro 8610 installation. Then, choose ‘Yes, send wireless settings to the printer.” Now sit back and relax as the HP Auto Connect will process the next steps.

  • If you are not able to connect through this way, follow the other methods. Use the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect through another method. You can establish a wireless connection from the printer’s control panel itself.

  • To perform this method, you need to gather the network name, password or WEP/WPA passphrase.

  • On the printer’s panel, tap the Wireless icon. Select your HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer network from the list. If your printer’s name is not listed in the menu, you need to enter it manually.

  • After tapping OK, you need to enter the password on the next screen. If the above two methods do not work properly, you can use the WPS method, and connect your printer.

  • There are two types of Wi-Fi Protected Setup through which you can connect the printer wirelessly. The first one is the Push Button method, and the other one is PIN.

  • In this method, you have to make sure both the router, and the printer support the Push button method. Press the WPS button on the HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer. It will remain active for 2 minutes within which you have to connect to the network.
