Steps to change the ink cartridge in Canon Pixma printer

• Ensure that your Canon Pixma printer is switched On.
• Open the front cover that is present on your printer.
• Raise the paper output cover.
• Check if the cartridge is moving to the center area of your Canon printer.
• Push down the empty cartridge from its slot.
• Obtain the fine cartridges from the authorized sellers.
• Place the new cartridge into the slot. Move the cartridge in until it clicks into place firmly.
• Close the paper output cover and then print an alignment page.

Instructions to replace the cartridges in Canon Pixma printer

• The cartridges must be changed as soon as possible when the ink levels are less in your Canon Pixma printer. Check the ink status of your cartridge, open the Printer Driver Setup window on your computer. Launch the Canon IJ Status Monitor software. Choose the View Printer Status option on the Maintenance tab.
• The Canon IJ Status Monitor opens, and an image of the ink status gets displayed on the screen. The data that appears on the Canon IJ Monitor changes based upon your country or region. Choose the Ink Details option if necessary, to check the information that is related to the ink cartridge.
• If an error or a warning occurs that is related to the remaining ink amount, a notification icon gets displayed on the Ink Details dialog box. To change the cartridge on your Canon Pixma printer, raise the front cover on your printer to open the paper output tray. Raise the front output cover.
• The fine cartridge holder moves to the access area of the Canon Pixma printer. Make sure not to touch the fine cartridge holder until it stops entirely. Push down on the empty cartridge until it clicks into place. When you remove the cartridge from its slot, an electronic sound will be heard for about two times.
• Take the new fine cartridge out from the packaging cover. Discard the protective tape that is present on the new cartridge. Do not touch the printhead nozzles or electrical contacts that are present on the cartridge. Place the fine cartridge at a slant position into the cartridge holder.
• The tri-colored cartridge should be installed on the left slot. The black ink cartridge must be placed on the right slot. Keep the fine cartridge gently so that it does not hit the electrical contacts that are present on the cartridge holder.
• Push the cartridge in the upward and downward direction until it gets seated firmly. Once the cartridge is loaded correctly, an electronic sound will be heard once. Verify if the fine cartridge is installed properly. The Canon Pixma printer cannot print unless both the black and the colored cartridges are installed. Close the paper output cover.
